Mirja Nissen
Founder & CEO
With over 25 years in the logistics and supply chain industry, Mirja has made it her mission to work with the different stakeholders throughout the supply chain to improve the flow of goods and information for the benefit of society. Inspired by this mission, Mirja launched Supply Chain Stage, a platform to connect supply chain tech companies with venture capitalists and industry C-levels, thereby improving the matchmaking process for everyone involved.
Mirja began her career at Lufthansa Group where she held different management positions within the Cargo and Consulting division. During her time with Lufthansa she selected qualified partners, and developed relationships which became key for her and her client’s success.
After Lufthansa, Mirja worked for several multinational freight forwarders and DHL eCommerce, where she qualified and connected service and logistics partners to develop and manage international trade lanes suited for large industry accounts and high volume parcel shippers. As the Managing Director of eCommerce at the WCA. Mirja introduced a network specific qualification guideline, including a vetting process to ensure only vetted members can apply to join the network. To add value to the network, she helped WCA members with business development introductions.
Most recently as Director of eCommerce Solutions for the Lenton Group, Mirja developed and ran a cargo tech multi-carrier platform where her ability to vet and select business partners became essential for the network’s success.
Mirja holds an MBA from HULT International Business School, and a master’s degree in International Logistics & Supply Chain Strategy from Georgia Institute of Technology. Her mother tongue is German, and she is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
